John’s an internationally known expert on open-book management. He’s the author of the classic works Open-Book Management and The Open-Book Experience: Lessons From Over 100 Companies Who Successfully Transformed Themselves. (You can order them here.)
He has written about open-book management for Inc., Harvard Business Review, and many other magazines, and was cofounder of the Open-Book Management Bulletin (back in the days when newsletters were actually printed on paper). A board member of the National Center for Employee Ownership, he is also coauthor of Equity: Why Employee Ownership Is Good for Business. Since the summer of 2015, he has written a biweekly article on the Forbes website, in partnership with Bill Fotsch. John lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
